Project
Strong is a program, which focuses on
equipping young men and women with trades
that would increase their value in the job
market. The eighteen-month programme
combines classroom instruction with
apprenticeship in skills such as
needlecraft, basket making, leather
processing, cooking and bee keeping. In
this the ninth year of the programme,
woodwork has been added to the list of
skills being offered. National Bank was
approached by Programme Director Mr.
Washington Archibald for assistance and
willingly stepped forward to lend its
support.
In
today's knowledge-based economy, what one
earns depends on what one learns. With
National Bank’s support we know that this
crucial programme will continue to
effectuate the promise of its name, and
enable the enrolled students to develop and
ultimately grow from strength to strength.
The skill development potential for these
students does not just stop at career
advancement, but also extends beyond this to
encompass personal enrichment. Mr. Archibald
was at hand to accept a cheque on behalf of
the students and staff from a National Bank
representative.
