The Junior
Achievement Programme is an initiative led
by the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB)
in collaboration with public and private
sector organisations including the St
Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank. The
programme is geared at kindling a burning
passion for business in local high school
students. These students are responsible for
identifying a business opportunity,
operating this business and subsequently
bringing it to liquidation.
National Bank
knows the value of cultivating these
necessary skill sets and knowledge in our
youth because harnessing such skills would
enable young people to mature into business
savvy adults. National has played a vital
role in its advisory function to
participating students by providing insight
into challenges the business world sometimes
presents, at a time when the development of
the business sector is central to the
overall growth of the local economy.
The JA
Trade Fair took place on May 5, 2006 in the
Independence Square. Although initially
threatened by bad weather, the event
proceeded to blossom into a huge success.
This Fair provided students with the
opportunity to showcase and sell their
products and services to the general public
as well as providing a forum for National as
platinum sponsor to demonstrate its support.
