Mr. Donald Thompson currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank Limited. He has held several other senior level positions at the Bank, including Assistant Managing Director - Internal Audit and Compliance and Chief Retail Banking Officer. He has been with the Bank for over 20 years.
Prior to joining National Bank, Donald served as the accountant at the Eastern Caribbean Home Mortgage Bank and, prior to that as an auditor with one of the BIG 4 accounting firms.
Donald currently serves as Chairman of the Eastern Caribbean Automated Clearing House Services Incorporated (ECACHSI), a company that is owned jointly by the clearing banks in the Eastern Caribbean Currency Union (ECCU) and the ECCB. He has held the position of Chairman of the Company since the inception of the company in 2012 and spearheaded the establishment of the first ever automated clearing house for cheques in the Eastern Caribbean.
In addition, Donald serves on the Board of Directors of the St. Kitts and Nevis Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Eastern Caribbean (St. Kitts-Nevis Branch).
Donald previously served on the Board of Directors of the Caribbean Association of Banks (CAB), a community of banks and other financial institutions in the Caribbean/CARICOM Region, where he represented the Eastern Caribbean and Barbados. He also served on Board of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Caribbean (ICAC).
Donald graduated from San Francisco State University with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in accounting and from Morehead State University (Kentucky, USA) with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.
He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and holds an International Diploma in Compliance, from Manchester Business School and the International Compliance Association. He is an Accredited Director, having received the Acc. Dir. designation from the Institute of Chartered Secretaries Association of Canada.
